Introduction
Institute of Software Skills Development (ISSD) is a forward-thinking education center created to make quality IT education accessible, practical, and career-focused for every learner. Initiated with the support of WebBuilders.lk, one of Sri Lanka's recognized web development companies, ISSD operates as an independent educational institute centered on skill-based learning.
The institute is set to commence its academic programs in May 2026 with industry-relevant pathways including NVQ Level 4 - Software Development, Graphic Design, and Basic Web Design. Each program is designed to help students build confidence through guided, hands-on practice instead of theory alone.
What makes ISSD unique is its strong emphasis on real-world exposure. Students are supported not only through classroom training, but also through work placement opportunities developed with WebBuilders.lk and other partner companies across Sri Lanka.
To strengthen practical learning, WebBuilders.lk has contributed a dedicated workspace for ISSD that functions as a professional training environment. Under the leadership of Director U. Chartheepan, ISSD is committed to shaping a new generation of skilled IT professionals through affordable education and meaningful industry experience.
